From 1860 to 1903,this speciial blend from selected Chartreuse Jaune at 43% was the star of European tables, reaching as far as the Russian Court, where Tsar Nicholas II was a fervent lover. It was for this reason that it was named 'REINE DES LIQUEURS' ie "The Queen of Liqueurs". Less than 1700 bottles every year. Nowadays Cuvée Reine des Liqueurs has the same distillation method and recipe as in 1836.
