Pleasures & Plenitude
I remember my father going down to his cellar to choose the wines of the night… the champagne was ready in the fridge, but asa ritual, my father needed the guest to go back into the cellar with him to check his selection… And this ritual was quite long sometimes as the tasting started down there, in his cellar !Back up, the Champagne was the cheer time with a lot of laughter and noise… The party was on and everyone could then enjoy the first glass of white with the first dish. The game was then to have 2 reds…one Bordeaux and one Burgundy (or Rhône) and the conversation would always be all about food and wines… Until one last bottle – of Champagne – to finish the evening “en beauté”…This auction is just perfect to reproduce this kind of dinner.
